Re: I bumped a car today

Realistically, I don't think lightly tapping a car is anything to worry about, anon. You should have left a note saying something like "I may have bumped into your car, please call me if you notice any damages" along with your phone number and taken lots of pictures of your car and theirs. You're not supposed to leave a potential accident, that could be called a hit-and-run. However, this also happens all the time and most people don't bother. If you were going slowly, neither car probably has any damage and chances are the owner will never notice.

In the future, though, don't freak out. Take those pictures, write a note with your name, number, and brief explanation (DON'T say "I hit your car, I'm sorry!" but rather "I MAY have hit your car"). If you have insurance information, leave that, too. This sort of thing actually happens regularly, worst case scenario if some damage is found, that's what you have car insurance for - and the chance of it being super expensive is not very high if you were going slowly. Easier than being afraid, and your conscience is clear.

But again, though you really shouldn't leave, the chance of anything coming of this is minuscule.
