The work thread!

Post about your job here! Anything: gripes, venting, how much you love it, your secret crush on the mail room gal, whatever!

I work in thrift and two weeks ago we got 4 really cool lightsaber toys as a donation, and instead of pricing them and putting them out on the sales floor (like we're supposed to), we've all been playing with them in the warehouse (they're fun to play with, okay). Anyway, last weekend the boss told us to price them and put them out, but we didn't, we kept playing with them, and today we all got a lecture about it. And they finally got priced and put on the floor (and they sold within a few hours too). It was fun while it lasted, lol.

I'm just waiting for a client to step out of a meeting and have them turn out to be a beautiful man who once he has laid eyes upon me, must know who I am, and proceeds to woo me etc etc etc and when it's all over, whenever he has a particularly wistful expression on his face, it's because he was thinking of me and the wonderful time we spent together.

Until then, work is good and I can't complain.

Work has been super busy today. We had a celebration for all the birthdays in January/February and they made me stand up so they could sing to us. D::::

I'm thinking about changing jobs but I basically wish I could take all the staff with me? I got bullied/harassed massively at my last job and I'm so grateful to finally work somewhere where I get on well with everyone (even making friends with someone who hated me at first), but I don't want to be there forever. I have pretty bad social anxiety so the idea of starting somewhere new with different people terrifies me now. :( Idk. I just feel stuck.

I work at a Harris Teeter deli. we're almost always short staffed and in the past... not even a year, we've hired and then promptly lost multiple people. I'm waiting til we get staffed up again to move to front end. I love my coworkers and I like Harris Teeter as a company but ...food service is NOT for me.

There are awesome customers who I love chatting with but.. there are sooo many rude customers , especially working in sub shop. I have been yelled or snapped at sooo many times.

Gooood I miss being out and doing carts most of the day.

The woman whose cubicle backs up to mine is fucking HILARIOUS. She's originally from NYC and though she's lost most of her accent, she's still got the attitude. I'm not sure how she hasn't gotten written up, but she walks the line between not taking the patients' crap and being outright rude.
