(Anonymous) 2018-02-17 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)While I'm no fan of The Wall O Tags, some fan authors do the big wall of tags because they're trying to complete a bingo card challenge or something. But the more tags you use, the more categories your work shows up in, bing bang boom, the more people see it.
Tags aren't just for people who need trigger warnings. They're an *advertisement* as well. One person wants a fic tagged with "Bondage" so they can avoid it, someone else only wants to read fic with bondage in it today, so that's the tag they searched under. Your bondage fic isn't tagged, someone out there specifically excited to find a fic just like the one you wrote will not see it.
