AYRT—I work for a public library, and I’d probably shrug at anyone pirating, say, Dan or Sandra Brown, James Patterson, or Danielle Steel, but unless an author is practically an industry by themselves, yeah, pirating can actually make the difference between them getting their next book published vs being homeless.
