I would have been all for Rey Random, but the way it was done - meaning with zero regards towards continuity, good writing and in a very forced "neener neener neener I bet you didn't expect THAT" kind of way made me resent it.

This is the thing that put me off of it. It was executed so fucking cheaply to me. Killed my interest in the new trilogy.
