IME, when people say that a ship is canon, they usually don't just mean that there's sexual tension between characters. Maybe other people have different expectations, but IME, saying that a ship is canon usually means that there's definite romantic interest or a definite romantic storyline at the very least, if not an actual romantic relationship.

DA

I don't think that OP meant that ship was officially canon, just that the actors and directors acknowledge the ship and don't appear to object to the fact that some people have interpreted the dynamic as shippy, which goes against the people who are opposed to the ship who apparently deny that the dynamic is at all shippy.

That's not the same as saying that everyone who dislikes the ship has lost. The secret is super triumphalist.

If their goal is to make the shippy dynamics go away, but the creators show no sign of wishing to erase the shippy dynamics or otherwise seem inclined to encourage the shippers, then it kind of is a lost cause.

It is a lost cause to the extent that their goal is to make the shippy dynamics go away entirely

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here.

probably discussing the secret, as is the function of this community. people share their opinions about the topic in the secret and sometimes debate these opinions.

it's a tried and proven concept that has worked for this community for many years!

You're really obvious on flatview.

I swear to God, there's at least two different people posting as anons in this thread right now who agree with each other (IE, I am one of them and there's another one besides me).

Hand on my goddamned heart, if I'm lying I'm dying.

IDK i've seen loads of people who make posts about 'X-ship is so canon!' only for that to not be the case at all, it's gotten to the point where i assume that a post like that is being hyperbolic rather than truthful these days.
