Peta literally steals people's pets to kill them. They'd rather all animals be dead than exist. That is as dumb as those people who don't vaccinate because they'd rather have a dead child than an autistic one. They don't even deny it, they want all domesticated animals dead.

"When I wrote Ingrid Newkirk to ask her how, as an animal rights organization, PETA could oppose non-lethal programs for feral cats in shelters, and why her organization advocates that they be rounded up and killed, Newkirk wrote back that PETA is not an animal rights organization, stating in no uncertain terms: “We do not advocate 'right to life' for animals.” "

Yes, they are horrible. I don't think a single person in this entire thread is defending them. Even within the animal rights community, they're pariahs, shunned and boycotted when they come to animal rights events.

But how many animals are you killing literally every single day with your diet and purchases when you could easily lower that amount drastically?

You're both killers.

Not to say that vegans are never responsible for any animal deaths. That's simply impossible. But at least we're trying instead of doing nothing and pointing our fingers at everyone else. Shifting blame to everyone but ourselves for the state of things for animals on this planet.

Animals that die in the meat industry do so so that other animals can live. It's for a REASON, and an important one, and humans are far from the only animal that consumes meat. Killing an animal just to kill it is a very different issue.
