Options B and C, I guess. I mostly write fanfic because an idea's nagging at me, and if it turns into something interesting, I post because I figure maybe other fans will also enjoy it, and I consume enough fic that it only seems fair to put some of my efforts out there to pad my lonely little fandoms' fic counts a bit.

I can't really be bothered to track hits and kudos, and I'd be genuinely baffled if something I wrote turned into an iconic fic for the fandom I wrote it in.
