Meh. Sad Puppies actually didn't bother me that much. I believe that during one year, it was actually headed by women. It's the Rabid Puppies that is filled with racists and misogynists.

Sad Puppies is basically a normal conservative movement with your normal mix of whites, non-whites, men and women. Rabid Puppies are the alt-right.

The reason I like this analogy is because the Sad Puppies are basically ineffectual except as a polite cover for the Rabid Puppies, who they largely support

As far as I can tell, they've mostly grumped off now that EPH is in effect to their own message boards and have thrown their weight behind the Dragoncon awards.

I think Wright and Beale supported "comicsgate" but no one showed up for that.

Nah, there was a split for a reason.

That said, Sad Puppies was never intended to last. It just got way more attention than initially expected.

The Sad Puppies bother me because they're the "polite" face of the racists and misogynists. They're the thin end of the wedge, the prettier branch of the same diseased tree. It's unfortunate that people get taken in by what is basically one big dogwhistle movement "covering" for its toxic colleagues.

Nah. I haven't seen any evidence of racism from the Sad Puppies. Just the Rabid Puppies; now there's some pretty disgusting stuff coming out of that particular group.
