Jared has done enough shitty stuff that his fans have supported him over that I doubt there's anything he could do to shake them.

I don't understand wanting the show to get canceled though. People are still enjoying it. Just stop watching it if you don't like it.

Not OP, and I don't usually say it out loud, but it would be nice to see Jensen Ackles in a different role every now and then. I enjoy his acting, and I think he can do a lot more. I just haven't had any interest in watching SPN since season 5/6.

ITA. He's wasted in that role at this point.

I can see that. I used to look up what the main two were also working on when I watched the show. I do this with a lot of actors I like. They used to do extra work, and I know TV actors can juggle having movies on the side too so I think he could do both if he wanted to. Certainly he should be able to do more voice work. He couldn't do another TV show but I think it's possible for him to do a movie role while on SPN. He just hasn't chosen to.

I actually think Jensen's time is on directing now. I wouldn't be surprised if after SPN, he tried to get more directing work and doesn't pop up in other stuff.

AYRT

I do that with actors I like too. Yes, he used to do movies during the SPN hiatus. It's actually very hard to schedule those things because he gets so little time off, and now that he has a family, he spends time with them. I don't begrudge him that, which is why the ideal thing for me as a fan of his is if SPN was canceled and he had more time to find other projects.

I agree that he might do more directing. I don't think he would stop acting completely, but he won't have to work all the time when (if?) SPN ever ends.

What's he done?

I heard something about starting a depression awareness campaign that didn't actually do anything, or something like that..

I'm thinking of his numerous run-ins with service staff where he posts about being mistreated without saying what the actual issue is and gives just enough information that his fans can figure out who the service person is (I think he posted a picture of one? I may be wrong about that). The one incident I know the most about, the fan-hate forced the restaurant to take down their Facebook page. The fans also went onto restaurant review sites and gave a lot of one-star reviews.

It's happened enough that Jared knows this is how his fans will react. It was brought to his attention and he played the victim.

The depression awareness campaign was actually extremely successful, and i think something like 100 Supernatural fans went through 50 hours of training to be online/phone people you call if you're feeling suicidal.
