I dunno if I’ll ever get used to the Cult of the Electric Pressure-Cooker. (My uncle’s husband owns like 6 different slow-cooker/pressure-cooker things and runs a recipe blog.)

I’m partway through potting up 52 varieties of sprouted tomato and 31 varieties of sprouted pepper seeds into those little peat pot greenhouse things; gonna do some more tomorrow, get groceries, do some laundry, and then I work Sunday.

I hiked 11.5 miles (it was mostly easy trails) with my aunt yesterday, so I hope my legs don’t hurt too badly the next couple of days. There was a pretty waterfall and we saw a covey of quail, and a few hawks, and a coyote hunting gophers. And I went to the beach this morning and saw dolphins from the end of the pier, which was really cool.

Heh. We have had ours for a year and just started using it! But the chicken salad it helped make was amazing.

That is a lot of plants! Are you selling them or is just for yourself? It is awesome that the weather where you are is so nice for hiking. It should be good weather around here soon.

I may end up giving a bunch of them away; I wasn’t expecting them all to germinate, oops. If they all thrive, maybe I’ll have a yard sale, heh.

And yeah, I’d actually rather have last year’s weather (a shit ton of rain) back; we need all we can get down here. But it’s not too hot and sunny yet, so I’ve mostly avoided becoming a sunburnt lobster on my weekly hike. When it heats up here, we’ll hike in the mountains—they’re only an hour away, but it’s still below freezing most nights right now.

Do you hike? I’ve never done the overnight backpacking kind, but I’d like to try it someday.

I hike every now and again but not enough to be an expert. I've never done overnight hiking mostly because I hate camping. :P
