You met Herbert Jefferson Jr.??? Not gonna lie, I'm crazy jealous. What was he like in person?

I loved Apollo too of course. :) I rewatching it the other day and it's really not that bad considering its reputation. I mean yes it's cheesy and the sexual politics are VERY dated but there's some solid characterisation, enough background of the characters to get your teeth into and some interesting political tension. I guess my secret really should have been 'I unironically love this show and think it's good'. :D

Just a really authentically warm and friendly guy, the kind of mensch you'd expect from Boomer (and other characters he's played).

And I'm with you! BSG was surprisingly well-written for a TV show--I think it suffered more than anything by time-constraint editing. You can see where there's some hand-handed cutting out of bits for commercials (even in the box set) and jerky transitions as a result, but man, the writing holds up surprisingly well despite. Also, the music was scored pretty well, too! Some of it's quite haunting and lovely.
