Considering internet culture and such, I kinda think liking cats is pretty basic. No offense, I like cats too, but let's be real.

It may be basic/popular/common to like cats, but that doesn't mean that whether or not someone likes cats can't affect your opinion of them.

idk, I think it's more about seeing someone act gentle and loving with animals than it is about them saying they like cats (or dogs, etc.) I'm immediately impressed by anyone who is gentle and loving with cats, and actively seeks to engage with them.

I just feel like his music so focuses on women's looks. Which, normal thing. But he's held out as this super romantic guy who writes super pro-women music. And yet "Perfect" and "Shape of You" are just as much about women's looks as any other pop/R&B/hip hop song. They aren't unique.

The first time I heard Shape of You, and clearly wasn't listening to the lyrics very closely, for some reason I thought he was singing about a pregnant woman. Something about the line "covering something brand new" maybe? I don't know, but as far as I remember the lyrics, that song doesn't actually describe the shape of the woman he's singing about very specifically, he just likes the shape of "you."

Well, yes, but the chorus is all "I'm in love with your body" before it says "I"m in love with the shape of you." So pretty clear what he means.

Sure, but I guess I have no problems with songs celebrating the singer's physical attraction to a woman (or women in general) when the song doesn't specify what the woman looks like.

True. Also, whenever someone hates cats, I side eye them. Dislike, fine. Hate? The youth pastor at my parent's church mentions that he hates cats every time he hears the word. I don't like him.

i have yet to meet a cat person that shits on other pets, but ive met so many dog fans that hate cats and it just baffles me. how can you hate any kind of pet? they're just trying to live their lives! i don't know how to behave around dogs so my interactions with them are usually pretty awkward, but i don't hate them for it
