Possibly you are missing out on the fact that a faction of Harry potter fandom has decided that James, and therefore also Harry, IS Indian, for literally no reason whatsoever, and throws fits and accusations of racism at anyone who disagrees

When i was a kid, I knew a family named Potter! I had no idea it was a desi name!

'James,' though, that's obviously South Asian. I should have known.
