I'm fine with seeing more Daleks and Cybermen. I'd just like them to be like... Daleks and Cybermen, not archvillains embedded in massive arc plots about the fundamental nature of the Doctor's soul

although, actually, Cybermen seem really hard to actually use in good stories so maybe I'll do a takeback on the Cybermen part specifically

Turk and Carla's relationship is really good, I agree with that part.

It's hard for me to like JD enough to get fully on board for the JD + Turk friendship. But that's just personally - I totally get where you'e coming from.

One point I wish to counter: I think its perfectly acceptable to value your own careers over your partners. Sure you want them to be happy, sure their career may have more financial value, but your career is still your career. I is - I would hope - your passion. Something you chose. Something that in many cases defines you. I see a lot of imbalances in their relationship that they both go along with and are perfectly happy with, and it's fine to point out the selfishness of Lily, but lets be real, if Marshall had said "Your career is stupid, mine is better paying, your passion is less important than mine, so we're not doing your thing" it would be near universal the outcry of "What a scumbag!" One of them had to buckle. One of them was going to have to give up their passion, and the fact that Marshalls was better paying should not make his loss any more substantial than hers.

And ofcourse since this is me talking about it, let me mention the gendershit. Would anyone have been ok with the message "Woman gives up career in favour of husbands career"? You think that would have washed? Marshall would have been considered a misogynist / chauvinist if he hadn't folded. It would have tainted his character in the eyes of so many fans. No, "Woman gives up career in favour of husbands career" is a grim lifetime movie about how men are bad. "Man gives up career in favour of wifes career" is a heartwarming lifetime movie about a supportive husband of a strong female protagonsit. Same basic movie, but with a radically different score.
