Good rant and I agree with your end game.

I wasn't annoyed so much that they divorced, more that I'd spent weeks being bored to death by their wedding and it turned out it didn't even matter other than Ted met Tracy, but she was basically a plot point to screw over Robin (again) and I felt cheated!

I also found it so gross that the only way Barney gave a shit about women was to end up father to a daughter. I HATE the unfortunately real life attitude that some men don't even realise women are people despite being married to one. Or the son of one in fact!
