My standard is: you have as much right to complain about a bad remake as you do about any other bad movie. Because ultimately, that's all a bad remake is - another bad movie. It doesn't ruin the original and it doesn't ruin anyone's childhood. It's a remake. That's all it is.

They can make as many Halloweens as they want, and the original Halloween will still be exactly the same timeless movie.
