That's one upside!

Just personally, I prefer my small quiet fandoms to remain small and quiet and centered on the versions of the characters I love, even if it means I'm not getting a lot of attention. And if the remake revitalizes the fandom too much it can cause a massive influx of wank that can drive off the old guard, only to leave the fandom truly deserted once the new fans move on to the next shiny thing.
