Character/y/n, Character/Reader BECAUSE I CAN NEVER BE RID OF THEM! No matter what I blacklist, they still pop up.

oh god these. they're EVERYWHERE in my current fandom and I'm SO TIRED. I've suffered so long, blacklisting and selecting tags and I STILL FIND THEM. The MC would not fuck you - get over it.

Snape and Loki will never love you

HOW WOULD YOU KNOW? HUH?! HOW WOULD YOU KNOW?! You're clearly in denial about all the subtle romantic suggestions the MC has made, and oblivious to the suffocating US/UR tension between us. JUST LEAVE US ALONE, ANON! WHY CAN'T YOU LET US BE HAPPY?! YOU'RE TEARIN' US APART!!!!

Oh man they are THE MOST IMPOSSIBLE thing to blacklist on earth

(Character A)/Reader is a top 10 ship on AO3 for my fandom right now, and I fucking hate it.

What fandom is this, anon? I'm going through a very self indulgent period right now, and I have no qualms about it.

One man's trash...

Final Fantasy XV. Hope you like Ignis, and also being impregnated by tentacles or some shit because it's all weird shit.

lmao thanks, anon

I think I ran into one where he was an octopus? I was confused as fuck. I understand what you mean about all kinds of weird shit.

They're very common in my fandom, too ("Criminal Minds", for the curious). I don't like those fics, either. There's so many characters to play around with in the canon already.

And even setting that aside, why not just make a proper OC? I get those types of stories bring their own issues, and people can be wary of them, too (I personally don't have any issue with stories involving OCs interacting with the canon characters-I've read some that were quite good-but I know they have something of a stigma among some out there). But it's good practice to create one's own characters, instead of having the reader imagine themselves in the role for them instead or whatever.

To each their own, of course-write what you (general "you") want to write and all that good stuff. Just, yeah, I personally sympathize with your rant.

I still read that as "character/yes/no."

I'm still not sure what it means.

"Y/N" is supposed to stand for "Your Name", and something you can easily find and replace if you copy the fic out into a word processor.
