Exactly. It feels like they shouldn't be called "Imagine"; they should be called "Imagine You...". The self-insert of it feels cringey and gross. The you/reader-insert of it feels even worse. Especially when you get into the ones that are sexual in nature, like "Imagine Negan wanting you and you calling him 'Daddy'." There's something just gross.

Okay, here's the best way I can explain it. Did you see "Prinal Fear" with Edward Norton and Richard Gere? When Edward Norton's character is being directed by the archbishop to participate in the porn with the two other kids? That's what the Imagines feel like to me. Sure, plenty of them aren't sexual, but so very many of them are.

So yeah, you'll never convince me that Imagines aren't an instant back button.

And yes, keep in mind, that's only how I feel. I'm guessing that's not anyone else.
