I feel you, OP! I've lost all focus on painting my own characters the past week or so because of fannish obsession. But you can still use this to further your skills-- when the day comes that you're ready to move on and create other things, you may find you're a stronger artist because of your fan obsession fueling your work for a period. It's all about trying new techniques, new angles, new poses... and letting your love for the character keep you going through new technical challenges!

Also, as someone who's been super obsessed with things that are not the most popular, it might annoy some people, but you're going to be SOMEBODY's hero for being the person churning out fanart of a less popular character.
