She is horrible, and is a murdering slaver. Given the tone of Thor 3, it's played for quirky laughs and probably isn't intended to be thought about with any level of depth. But considering this is the same universe (err, in a manner of speaking) as Captain America, Black Panther, etc. - it's definitely hard to reconcile such an evil character as a heroine.

Next you'll be telling me that Norman Osborn withholding the cure for cancer makes it okay for T'Challa to do it.

Loki is depicted either as a VILLAIN or at best a duplicitous asshole.

Valkyrie sells people into slavery and is depicted as a "stronk female character" and despite her horrific actions is treated as a hero.

That's the point.
