yesss.

AC doesn't give her character as much to work with, though since it's all gritty grimdark SF.

Yeahhhhhh I agree but I also think it's basically just a result of B99 being a much better written and better made show across the board

I'm *still* of the opinion that Altered Carbon wasn't actually a very well written book, and Netflix should probably have gone with original IP instead of adapting it

I agree. Altered Carbon the novel was mediocre material. Many better options they could've used. The title is rad though. Maybe option Altered Carbon for tirle only, like Bladerunner (where the story was based on a different novel by a different author entirely)

I've not seen the first show so I can't comment, but I love both Amy and Rosa and how different they are from each other while still being kickass in their own ways.

Same. I also love that they're friends. <3

This fanart of them as a junior-high-ish detective duo is one of my favorites because it perfectly encapsulates it: https://society6.com/product/santiago--diaz_print?sku=s6-2990485p4a1v45

That's really cute!

I haven't watched Altered Carbon but as a Latina I LOVE that not only does B99 have two Latina characters, they are both multidimensional and cool (even Amy, in her own way) without being flat "sexy Latina with a gun" characters

I haven't seen Altered Carbon yet, but I definitely agree on B99. I love Rosa and Amy, and the show's pretty solid in general.
