we ended up deciding it was this mix of cubed potatoes, hamburger and onions served nice and warm. Even as a kid I knew that wasn't right but I personally really liked that meal so I could understand someone wanting to scarf it down, particularly if they were really cold. Finding out it was candy, which makes more sense, is still a let down, even all these years later that I've known. I mean, I get he's a kid and candy and WWII sugar rationing and all but dang - it was COLD! As a kid I would have been asking for something warm, not gelatin cubes.
