It's hard to comment on or discuss a secret when the secret maker won't tell you the fandom.

Not necessarily. Some secrets generate plenty of discussion even though the fandom isn't named, because it addresses a thing that's common to more than one fandom and doesn't require specific details in order to be relatable.
