Tolkien wouldn't approve of gay relationships

Do we know that for sure? He was at Oxford for decades, after all. Or do you mean the catholic thing?

I mean, I personally have hope that he might have been more progressive if he'd been born in a different era given how he progressed in his attitudes around Jews and how he wrote women. But he was very Catholic.

I was mostly commenting on what other people are saying. That they insist he wouldn't approve and therefore it is okay to bludgeon fans on m/m or f/f pairings for 'doing it wrong'.
