Yeahhhhhhh.

Yeah.

She is hot, though.

I've come to love her more. I disliked her a lot at first. I used to really hate this archetype. Still not my favorite, but she's more interesting to me now. But yes, Eliza is not the best actress. She does look the part of a slayer more physically than Sarah does, though, so there is that.

She's still lean, but she's got more muscle. She looks like she could actually fight someone. Yes, slayer powers are magic. But still, we see Buffy training physically, she should have more muscle mass than she does. I hate the Hollywood trend of casting tiny women in roles where someone who looked like that would actually probably break pretty quickly.

Oh, I see what you're saying!

Eliza just looked skinnyfat to me though. Her body is drool-worthy, but it was definitely soft. Especially in the last season.

I thought her acting suited the character and the tone of the show.

I agree, but I sort of incorporate the bad acting into the canon of the character. She IS a poser. She's putting on appearances because she feels so hollow inside and craves the validation of others despite acting like she's too cool to care. Why else would she have fallen so easily for the Mayor, someone who is her opposite in pretty much every respect, with his adherence to rules and proper manner. She's not badass or cool, she's desperate for affirmation and too ignorant to be aware of it.

Agreed. I always saw 'poser' as being a part of the character.

I didn’t notice it in Buffy, but MAN was it evident in Dollhouse. She was a good blank and a decent bad girl, but she just could not pull off the other types of characters that show needed... which was made worse by how awesome Dichen and Enver were at slipping instantly between any persona. Dance, Kiki, dance!

Yup. I still enjoyed Dollhouse, but Eliza was not the right actress for that role.

*giggles* Still my favorite moment from the show.

Bad acting doesn't really stand out on the show, tbh, it's not like any of them were Meryl Streep.

SMG playing Faith in Buffy’s body was better at being Faith than Eliza was.

(Anonymous) 2018-04-06 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because SMG can act.

people in this thread are so catty. eliza does well with the bad girl archetype and comedy and i thought she did decently in tru calling.
