I think there is way less meta discussion. Or if there is discussion, I don't know where to find it.

Yeah, I’ve seen individual people post meta to tumblr, but there’s less coherant response than there might be on a messageboard or livejournal community because the discussion gets scattered between different people’s reblogs. I think meta maybe isn’t as rewarding to post because of that.

The message boards I used to be on back in the day were something like 40-90% meta. Someone would post a thought and it could generate a big discussion.

Tumblr seems less like people leaving notes for each other on a wall and more like someone seeing a note on a wall, then writing a comment about it and sticking it to a completely different wall.

I found the same (20 years ago). It was the meta I liked best and what I miss most of all.
