It bothers me but I try not to shy away from fandoms just because they're past their designated expiration date. If I want to write fic I'll write fic even if I know that it won't get comments because it's not a coffee shop AU, and maybe in another few years someone else will happen across the "dead" fandom and be happy to see a fic that isn't a coffee shop AU.

I love OT3s but I don't want just fluff. Having one character worry about being pushed out is nice. I also like when the characters just have to navigate the difficulties of regular relationship communication but with more people now. I want to see it work but I want to see the effort it took.

Jesus I wish fandom would learn the difference between "nonbinary" and "gender not specified". This wilful confusion sure seems to happen a lot to settings where it makes sense for women to hide their genders.
