Based on number 1

What are some fandoms you regret being late to?

I just finally finished reading "The Casual Vacancy" and "The Cuckoo's Calling" and watched the miniseries adaptation of Casual Vacancy. I have many thoughts but no one to share with. =(

Lord of the Rings especially as a Faramir fan. I loved the movies but never really gave a second thought to Faramir. Then I rewatched it and fell in love. But so many of the archives are gone.

There is a big fandom on Tumblr. I haven't followed any particular Faramir fans, so I don't know if they are there. But there is stuff for just about every character, so you can probably find something.

I don't regret it that much, but Supernatural because a couple of gut-wrenching scenes didn't pack the same emotional punch since I knew what was gonna happen. It was kinda hard to feel shocked the first time Sam died because I knew he'd be back. Same with all the other times the boys died. The only death that caught me off guard was Bobby's because I honestly thought he was gonna live and I teared up when my friend confirmed that he stays dead (though he shows up in cameos at least once a season).

Hannibal. I recently watched the whole series and really liked the first season (the rest not so much), and it would have been nice to talk about it when it was airing. The fandom probably wasn't huge, since I haven't found much. A couple of nice fics and pics, but that's it.

Are you sure? Hannibal seemed to be one of the It Fandoms of circa 2013-14, at least if you shipped slash.

It's always harder to find stuff after the big fans have migrated elsewhere, and it just seems to be one of those fandoms where omegaverse is/was popular.

nayrt really, there was hannibal omega verse? I didn't see that... But then again, I hung out in the guro side of that fandom, maybe there wasn't much crossover.

Only a couple?

There are almost 18,000 fics for Hannibal (TV) on AO3.

...well, there's that thing about quality vs. quantity.

This isn't quite a fandom, but I regret not joining LiveJournal before all the Spanish communities started dying one by one. It seems like I got there right in time to witness everyone else leaving, and at that point I just said fuck it and turned to the English side of fandom.

I used to feel regret about coming to love Star Wars and Doctor Who in the mid-90s. Too late for fandom! That changed, though...

Mostly my problem is not so much being late but getting into something that never had much of a fandom to begin with.

I hear you. Some of my fandoms have like ten fics on AO3 with two or three of them being mine. I'm not complaining but it's a very different experience from being into Doctor Who (these days).

I like The Casual Vacancy for having non-sexual boy-on-girl bullying that isn't forgiven. That's pretty rare.
