For me I like to headcanon this movie as a bit of a per-curser to the Warhammer 40k universe because honestly it kinda fits.

The tech has that same high-low tech clunkyness to it that the 40k Imperium has, and the going through hell thing is legit a thing that human ships in the 40k universe do as well. It's called The Warp but it also has demons and shit in it.

Event Horizon is otherwise fun enough on it's own, none of the characters are terribly memorable to me but I like some of the shots and the core-thing is pretty neat too. Plus I'm a fan of the sci-fi horror aspect to it.

It's not terribly creepy of frightening to me, but I think it works well at setting up some tension.

It is very 90's VFX, sets and costumes though, but I also don't think it's that bad for the time tbh. I think they probably did the best with their budget.

But yeah, it's kinda fun and weird.

I don't know enough about Warhammer to have an opinion on that but I've heard that headcanon before!

Yeah, it had some really great spots. My favorite one was the green motherboard hallway.

I think the most 90s thing was the opening and closing music. Just...damn.

I share the same headcanon. In fact, it was this movie that got me into the Warhammer 40k verse.
