Don't know about the character, but Skunk stripe and heterochomia of the eyes... I think I'm in love. <3

She's a ruthless stone cold iron-fisted imperial officer from the now defunct star wars expanded universe (the x wing comics/novels, specifically), name of Ysanne Isard. You'd probably like her.

Sounds like she's exactly my type 8))))))

You were never into Star Wars?

(Anonymous) 2018-04-07 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
NARYT, but I've known people who are Star Wars fans and have never been into the EU, only the movies.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a fan of the older mvies, and I do love lightsabers, but that was never enough to crag me into the EU. and given how jaded I am on the "fantasy disguised as scifi" schtick I am these days it looks like the EU wasn't to be.

You might well like the X Wing comics/novels tbh. They're way less on the fantasy end and more on the sci fi end---they're about pilots, not Jedi (though a couple of characters have Force sensitivity, it isn't tremendously significant to the plots.) There's a lot of political intrigue/military stuff in them. They were also written by two of the best writers (Stackpole, comics and some of the novels, and Allston, the rest of the novels) that the EU had. Highly recommend even to non Star Wars fans tbh.

Yeah...I don't think I've ever read a Star Wars comic (aside from Dark Horse's adaptation of the original screenplay that eventually became the first movie), or finished any of the novels. (I have, however, watched all of the TV shows, but I'm pretty sure those were all intended as primary canon when they aired, even if they were eventually consigned to EU/Legends status.)

I liked the original trilogy, I liked the visuals of the prequels, and I'm just past all the space fantasy stuff to care about the new movies - I mean, give me scifi or fantasy, but don't give me fantasy disguised as scifi, you could get me with that as a kid, but now all I see is the same boring cliches as fantasy with almost nothing new to justify it. Lightsabers remain cool but other than that I'm not seeing anything in it for me. Maybe I've just become less fun. Anyway, liked it, but never enough to care about the eu.

I knew I liked you for a reason.
I never got the whole "Space wizards" argument. To me Star Wars is and was always hard scifi. I always thought of the Force as a natural...uh...force. And Jedi as monks or priests, not wizards.

Want space fantasy? *Points to icon*

No, but it is startling to see how completely opposite to me a person can be.
