Mass Effect 1-3 good games (or at least acceptable, ymmv)
Dragon Age 1-3 two goo games (or at least acceptable, ymmv)), one that was pure unadulterated trash

i'm a queer gamer and would love more representation but "everybody's bi/gay" is not sufficient to make a game great for me because like, the game mechanics and story also has to be good. which they weren't

everyone is bi/gay was a great part of DA2 but it doesn't make the whole game great for me. if that overrides everything else for you, cool, but again, that's a much lower bar than most would have

i don't think da2 was great but i don't think it was as terrible as people make it out to be because the characters and the city were really charming, there was a nice focus on the story.
the copy-pasted dungeons were super unfortunate, but i didn't mind the combat (what i did mind was that enemies came in waves. that was just uncalled for).

to me it felt very cool, the progression from hobo to mansion and no game with aveline in it can ever be called "terrible" in my humble opinion.

Haven't played that one, but even if it's worse than Hitler tier, at least it's not part of the main trilogy.

Andromeda was fine post-romance patch.

Andromeda was a solid 7-8/10 after the patches. It didn't quite hit the high notes of the OT but it's easily as good as any of the OT games on their own. Or any DA game, for that matter.

And it breaks my heart given how awesome ME is generally.

I've played just about everything except for the Sonic game and The Old Republic, and their formulas have been stale for a while now. It's just that DA:O and ME2 were exceptionally good at them.

Whatever people say, ME3 ended on objectively conclusive ending(s). DA:I ended with a goddamn cliffhanger on the Silmarillion-y fucked up plot. After all three games I just want a conclusion to all this mess, even if somehow Bioware messed it up (they probably will).

Maybe I read too much into those video game controversies, like how apparently their continued existence relies on Anthem being a success or not, but man if EA does actually cut them if (when?) Anthem fails, I'm gonna be mad.

tbh, I think you can see the decline in Bioware in ME and DA.
ME3 was a mess in the end; DAI wasn't as great as it tries to be; and then MEA was a train-wreck. Unless they actually put some decent effort into DA4, it won't be enough to pull the studio back.
And considering EA/Bioware seems to be putting all the eggs into the Anthem basket...it is highly unlikely DA4 will get the attention it needs.
