I... kind of agree? But I also feel like the character has changed more than Mulder has, so it's a slightly different challenge for her, compared to Duchovny.

Also I guess my expectations for nu!X-files are really low to start with so it doesn't bother me so much.

I sometimes get the sense that she feels she's outgrown the role.

BBC America was re-running old X-Files episodes over Easter weekend and I want to state for the record that Gillian Anderson is so much more gorgeous now then in 1994.

Listen, bud, Gillian Anderson has always been and will always be incredibly gorgeous, and that's a fact.

DA

Agreed, but I understand OP. I saw her in the Fall and was blown away by her beauty. Like...she's A fine wine that continues to age better...And it's refreshing to see her (As in fact a beautiful woman) in media where youth and beauty are the gold standard and a woman over 35 doesn't necessarily cut it if she can't appear younger.

Did she not like doing X-Files?

Well, DD used to be a bit of a prick to her, Being All Intellectual Himself, and I can't imagine that Chris Carter -- he who writes women terrorized all the time -- was a joy to work with.

But certainly X-Files fandom has the receipts to all of this. If you google, you can surely find out.
