You "friend" users you know or like or think you like, pick the tags you like and are spammed with everything in them, good and bad. Lots of tags overlap with other things, so people hop community lines and etiquette are blurred and cause drama. There are some big name prolific or popular accounts but there's no sense of community. Just masses of faceless "fans of A/B ship" love em or hate em. There's no way to moderate what goes in a tag or shows up in your feed or not without you "unfriending" or blacklisting each thing specifically, after you've unfortunately already seen it. On the plus side, there is tons more sheer content.
