It just makes me really sad when characters are just there for every other character to mock and call pathetic.

That might bother me more except that Hitchcock and Scully clearly don't care, they're going to keep being their gloriously gross selves.

NAYRT - Yeah, the Jerry-bashing on Parks & Recreation made me uncomfortable because he wasn't doing anything wrong, but Scully & Hitchcock are such incompetent jerks (that I thoroughly enjoy watching) that I don't feel as bad when other characters rag on them.

This. As much as I love Parks and Rec, I also loath how they treated Gary/Jerry/Larry to the point of not being able to re-watch a lot. It wasn't funny and my heart breaks for him often.

These guys are just funny about it.

There there for the not liking the bashing of Jerry on Parks and Rec. I'm glad he has a great life outside of work but it was jarring for a show that seemed to run on sunshine to have such a mean-spirited recurring "gag".

I can see why people may not like them, they're mostly only there to be made fun of and their humour can be kinda gross. But at least when they do stupid or creepy shit they're called out for it, unlike Gina (like Hitchcock being called gross when he's creepy with women, but Gina getting a free pass to be creepy with Terry).

Did she get a free pass? It seemed pretty clear that the other characters were creeped out by that.

Luckily since Chelsea went away and then came back they've been dialling back Gina's annoying traints somewhat.

I love them. And I disagree that they're only there to be mocked. The show makes a point of showing that even if they're coasting to retirement, they do have some real skills and sometimes even save the day.

I actually prefer Hitchcock and Scully to Gina too, because imo she’s much more annoying while they’re actually funny.
