silly computer things

Just frustrating nonsence with my machine today. The webcam is AWOL. Like, the computer has one, I know, because it worked yesterday. But today, the computer's all "Camera? huh, I dunno, I don't find a camera". Bah, I'm sure it's because something or other automatically updated and borked the driver while I wasn't looking.

What's the latest thing your computer has done, or failed to do, that made you twitchy?

I work with computers (ideally) so most stuff is a matter of my own fucking it up on purpose, but my keyboard is falling apart after 5 years.

Whatever glue they use to make the electrical connection has probably melted away. Apple wants like 500$ to fix it. Fuck you.

Maaaaan, screw that. I'm assuming it's a laptop? At that age, the chance of being under warranty's next to nil, so DIY it. You can find replacement laptop keyboards pretty easily on the internet and there are loads of teardowns if you're not totally comfortable with what goes where. <3

Yeah I could fix it easily enough if I had the money but I just bought a bluetooth keyboard (That I keep dropping and some of the keys have popped off lmao).

I set my default power option as Lock but for some reason is randomly defaults back to shut down. DRIVES ME CRAZY.

My computer fan gets really loud for two seconds, then really quiet for four seconds, and then it gets loud again. It's bugging me.
