Anime recs?

I'm much less of an anime fan than I was in my teens, so I've been out of the loop for a while and wondering if there's anything worth catching up on. Preferred genres are horror/psychological (still have a huge soft spot for childhood faves like CCS), big fan of NGE, FMA and Tokyo Ghoul, currently doing a rewatch of Serial Experiments Lain because I didn't need to sleep tonight anyway. :>

There are some current sequels to the shows you listed. CCS has one called Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card (about halfway through its run) and Tokyo Ghoul has two follow ups: Tokyo Ghoul √A and Tokyo Ghoul:re (which just started airing).
