ah, sorry if was unclear. I'm not saying that of course EVERYONE KNOWS apple pie is AMERICAN AND ONLY AMERICAN! but that it's not stupid to think that a british contestant on a british show doing a segment about american pies would possibly maybe somehow have once heard of the phrase "american as apple pie"
