At this point most of us are just dipping our toes, really--we're singing arias with piano accompaniment. If we ever get to the point of being onstage for two hours of singing and acting, with full orchestra, while wearing a costume that probably weighs about twenty pounds, it will be a giant leap beyond anything we're doing on Tuesday. One of my classmates actually has done this--he was in productions of Turandot and Billy Budd this summer! (Only in the chorus, but he'd just finished his junior year in college--he's going to be amazing when he's 30.) And I seriously think most of the voice majors could do the same. But even what we're doing is a giant challenge for me.

I'm so, so grateful for your kind, encouraging words.

You are welcome, but don't sell yourself short. You may not be in Broadway (or whatever the opera equivalent is) but you have the talent to be on stage in a group! That requires so much work and dedication!
