Honestly, nonny, if I disappeared from fandom, I know for a fact nobody would notice or care. There are way too many people in the group that my presence just wouldn't be missed. All my old fandoms died long ago.

It may be different for you, though. Maybe you put forth more effort than I do. I've definitely never been a BNF or amusing/cool/sweet fandom person that gets along with everybody.
