My friend, if you have difficulty not opening and reading things tagged with stuff you don't like on AO3, that's all on you. Given the difference in function, tagging etiquette on fanfic archives is pretty much the opposite of Tumblr.

AO3 does have some issues with the tag wranglers inexplicably synning "X" and "Not X" in some fandoms, but that's organizational stupidity, not something that's widely publicized or intuitive to check, and the tag cloud still shows what the poster originally tagged with, even if it does screw up search results.
