I'm really not sure how compelling that actually is, as a piece of evidence.

Like, those tags are both a really small percentage of the overall fics within the fandom, right? So it seems more likely that it's a (relatively meaningless) fluctuation in which fans happen to decide to use that tag, rather than a full indication of what kinds of fics exist in general.

Well, plot holes and under-utilised characters are definitely a thing with Rowling's writing so I wasn't surprised at this. It's a shame, though.

I definitely agree that it should be tagged.

Humiliation is super weird to me, though. It's one of those things that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, and when it works it's amazing and when it doesn't work it's the worst thing in the world, and I can't figure out when it does and doesn't work, like, at all. I think maybe it's that it needs to be done with some underlying... affection, like? IDK.
