I think that's a great idea.

I've recently been checking out a lot of older fandom stuff. It's nice to see certain fandoms making archives of old material and doing their best to preserve it for future generations of fans (Star Trek is great about this). There's a hell of a lot of fandom history that's vanishing right before our eyes as fics and art get deleted and more and more fansites and smaller archives go offline, and I think it's very worthwhile to preserve it in any way we can.
