It was a good cartoon, I liked it too and know little of the fandom issues that led to the secret. Are they related to the thing about how it was cancelled because too many girls liked it and supposedly that made boys not want the toys as much?

I'm more so thinking the secret is about how people think Teen Titans Go is kiddie trash and it's oh so bad and stupid. I don't know anything about why the original series was cancelled, I just stumbled over the extreme hate when I read the comments under the Teen Titans Go movie trailer on Twitter. I think TTG is a cute little cartoon, had no clue folks resented and loathed it so much.

If Teen Titans Go is the newer one (i.e. not around in 2005), then I get why people complained, but if they sat down to watch it, they'd probably find it hilarious. I only complained once because I was of the nostalgia "you're gonna ruin a classic" camp, but then I watched it and LMAOOOO BODY ADVENTURE!!! The show was like Teen Titans on acid lol it was pretty funny.

I think the main reason people hate TTG so much is that it airs. All the time. Constantly. Taking up timeslots. Meanwhile, actual quality shows on CNN have been shoved into weird and unpredictable schedules, see CNN's obsession with "Steven Bombs". Adventure Time used to air regularly for years but also got its consistent scheduling culled, and in its place... Teen Titans Go.

So take that, coupled with people still bitter that the original Teen Titans got cancelled and eventually replaced with a plotless slapstick remake... It's not surprising people loathe it.

That's exactly why me and my daughter don't like TTG. It's like someone took the characters that you loved and mindwiped them and stuck them in a three stooges movie. It HURTS.

That wasn't Teen Titans, which actually had a good run (5 seasons). That was Young Justice and Green Lantern.

Own it, OP, and drown out the haters. Don't let the nerd rage over the kids these days ruin your love of the show. I think TTG is the cartoon equivalent of chugging one of those unicorn frappuccinos while someone's screaming camp songs through a megaphone and throwing water balloons at you, but it's got plenty of fans. Not every version of a thing has to be for every fan of that thing.

Isn't this supposed to be "the good Teen Titans show"? As far as I know this has a lot of fans, and I don't see what people's opinion on Go and the live version has to do with you liking this one.

Or is it that you don't want to be lumped with the fans of this show that are also haters of the other two?

Not OP, but the fandom's starting to get a bit of a reputation, particularly where Teen Titans Go is concerned. Going to Go forums to bash the show, making fun of the fans, that sort of thing. Not anything outside of the "normal" range of bitter nerd gatekeeping, but it's not a good look.

This, and some of them being kinda racist over the casting of the live action, specifically Starfire. It's probably not all fans from the animated series, though the fact that they mostly expect the stick-straight hair of the animated version rather than the voluminous waves of the comics version suggests most of them are, but between describing her as a "crack whore" and bitching that they cast a black woman as a character "traditionally caucasian looking" is, as you say "not a good look".

Yikes -- I missed the live action drama. Isn't Starfire "traditionally orange with glowing green eyes?"

Came here to say the same. Just how much cheap bronzer do the people around them use that they think orange is a "traditionally caucasian look"?

I love Teen Titans as well and I'll admit to liking a few Teen Titans Go episodes, but man does the fandom have a hate boner for Teen Titans Go.

I'm actually interested in seeing TTGTTM in July. I've seen a few episodes and genuinely enjoyed them.

I don't think people's hate of Teen Titans Go would be nearly as bad if it weren't for that fact that Cartoon Network scheduling decisions are horrible, and keeps airing Teen Titans Go at seemingly the expense of everything else (https://cnschedulearchive.tumblr.com/post/168642440055/as-much-as-id-like-to-claim-this-is-a-practical). The show itself is fine in my opinion, but it's not hard to feel like Cartoon Network is strangling its other shows to death.

But are kids the ones demanding the show at the expense of everything else? Teens and adults have to realize they're not the intended audience for the vast majority of Cartoon Networks programming.

While kids do like the show, I sincerely doubt they demanded that every single episode be played at least twice between Christmas and New Years.

I don't like Go much and I prefer the original Teen Titans cartoon but I also don't hang out in fan-spaces for either show so idk how stupid people are being over it. But considering it's the internet then probably very.

I really loved the original series and the art and well, pretty much everything in it (except maybe the canon pairings).

When TTG came on, I thought it was cute but man, so hyperactive! They all seemed like they were high on sugar or something. I still like it but I preferred the serious storylines in the original series. If I could watch the serious eps and have little filler bits with TTG, that would be totally amazing.

Personally, that's exactly the perfect world I've been dreaming of for a long, long time.

The live action looks terrible.
