Anyone else have RPGs you miss? RP friends you miss?

I have a lot of ideas that I'd love to RP, and I wish I'd had them back when I had a friend I was RPing with. They were original ideas I could try writing, but I think they would've been more fun as a game.

I miss playing with all my friends on WoW. :(

I always wished my Harry Potter RP people hadn't stopped RPing before the last book, because I would have loved RPing the gap between the last chapter and nineteen years later.

I did find a few post-DH roleplaying groups, but they were all wanky and/or weird.

Yes. I used to RP these two characters and their relationship and adventures with someone on LJ. I loved it and spent a lot of time thinking about it. But the other person lost interest and stopped. I miss it so much.

I miss all my RP buddies on Gaia. They always created cool RPs and the OOC threads were so much fun, but one by one, they all left. Sometimes I think about logging in and seeing if any of them have come back. I miss a couple of my OCs too, but I've changed a few of them and made them characters in my original stories so they can still "live on" so to speak.

I still RP here on DW but I miss the games that died out before they could move from LJ to here. I played in a great Suikoden game and there's just no going back to those days.

That reminds me of the Suikoden 4/Tactics joke RP that followed multiple characters around on their adventures during and after the games, run by 2 people, I think. There used to be an archive but it's long since disappeared.

My best friend for three years, we used to RP all the time on Skype and I still have our old logs. But we had a big falling out and grew apart, I haven't spoken to them in over a year. It sucks, I miss RPing our characters :c

I miss the Good To Be In DC RPG. I had a friend I liked RP-ing with but she was a huge drama queen and I had to stop playing with her. :(

All of my RPs were on LJ (that's how long ago they were), and my first was a very femmeslashy Jem and the Holograms game (I was Stormer). Most of the other players were already friends of mine, so for a while it went pretty great. Then the guy playing Techrat turned out to be a massive edgelord who tried to turn the character into this grimdark supervillain who constantly pulled misogynistic, homophobic, rapey shit, and then whined on his personal journal -which we all were following at the time- when we told him to cut it out. Went on about how "none of these naive little girls have ever seen a villain more threatening than Voldemort" and how he was just trying to make the RP "more realistic," despite none of us having ever asked him to do so. We reminded him that the game was supposed to be as lighthearted as the show (and much gayer), and he flounced, so we replaced him. The experience left a pretty sour taste in everyone's mouths, though, so the RP kinda dwindled pretty quickly after that. So fuck you Sinurge, wherever you are. I hope you have permanent hemorrhoids.

The second RP I was in was this massive, multi-fandom crack!RP called Hogwarts Hocus, where characters from any fandom were welcome to apply to be sorted into a Hogwarts House. Characters who were written in a Mary Sue sort of way were sorted into four joke houses that matched whatever Sue trait was their strongest. I only remember two of them, though: Bitchiwitch and Sparklypoo. Applications that just plain sucked got squibbed. I played Rita Skeeter, who (naturally) was a Slytherin who would demand interviews from new character applicants before she agreed to sort them, and would then write horrible articles about them. My favorite one was her piece on Mario's tragic mushroom addiction and crumbling relationships with his friends and family. I also played the Bard from the PS2 Bard's Tale game. Not many players were familiar with it, though, so he got sorted Gryffindor on account of him being an adventurer (given that he's a shifty, thieving bastard and his only interests are "women, wine and song, in that order," I see him as more of a Slytherin). He was fun to write, but I had way more fun with Rita Skeeter. Unfortunately, real life intervened and I only lasted a few months before I just couldn't keep up anymore.

My last RP was for the short-lived lawyer show called Shark, starring James Woods before he went completely off-the-rails insane and Jeri Ryan when she was just starting to get dignified boss-lady roles. There were only four of us playing three characters each, and while three of us were good friends to begin with, one girl (who played Stark's teenage daughter) was so thirsty for James Woods that she wrote the kid as having a crush on her dad, which was beyond creepy. The game didn't last long due to conflicting schedules, and we kind of all drifted apart after that. Haven't heard from any of them in years, and I still kinda miss them (not the creepy one, though).

I will forever miss Middle Area High on LJ and will forever miss most of the people I played with there.
