I remember that, too. My dentist told me that she thought the US government wasn't being forthcoming/honest with information for the public about this disease. I asked her why she thought that and what possible good it would do to hide or suppress information from the public about a highly contagious and deadly disease, and she had no answer. I thought she was batshit and found another dentist. It's bad enough that the average idiot believes the "OMG TEH GUBBERMINT IS EEEEVIL" Faux News horseshit, Jesus.

I mean, there's a strong argument that part of the Ebola hysteria was promulgated specifically to help the Republicans in the 2014 midterms, so those things really aren't too far apart

This wasn't about that, tho. She literally told me that she thought the government was flat out lying about how Ebola is transmitted and how serious a disease it is.
