This is blatantly untrue or the world would be in a far worse place. The problem is the media focuses on the negative (as they say on the news 'If it bleeds it leads'). Most people are just living their lives. Most people have loved ones who they deeply care for.
War is more complex to me than just 'people are selfish'. War is always instituted by those in power, often, yes, for their own selfish reasons. There is a theory that a lot of people in business and politics are sociopathic, who are a very small percentage of the population. Hence, the small percentage of the population who have no remorse and are selfish and bigoted are making the rules for the rest of us.
