Re: I've developed a bad habit

but...is it necessarily a bad thing?

I mean, if your weekend is for relaxing and maybe catching up on things (reading, housework/yardworks, etc) what does it matter if you start at 3 or at 7pm? As long as you're doing what you want to do, and get what you need to do done before you go to bed Sunday night, does the schedule actually matter?

my partner and I started, last year, to schedule ourselves to do one thing outside the house every weekend. it can be as simple as going to the farmer's market or making our Joann's run, or it could be an actual event in the city, either way. it did get us off our asses. but at the same time, it sometimes causes schedule interruptus, where shit that needs to get done around the house doesn't get done because we're "out." I'd rather get 2 hours of sewing in and spend the rest of my Saturday on my ass than get up at ass o'clock to do a Thing and then come home exhausted and unable to do any of my chores.

This. I used to stress out on my days off if I didn't go out and do anything "productive," but then I realized that as long as I managed to get everything I needed to do done, it didn't really matter how I spent the rest of the time. Today I didn't get up until 1, but I went out and got groceries and stopped by a local wine tasting, and now I'm at home in my PJs doing laundry. I didn't really do all that much, but I'm doing what needs to be done, so I don't feel guilty about it.
