135 - YES, THANK YOU. I'm sick of people saying she didn't really do anything bad and she doesn't deserve this, waah. I mean, fuck, if I copied/traced say, Nitta's art and someone found out the whole fandom would turn against me (and just imagine what would happen if I sold the art that I made this way). So how is it not a big deal when SHE does it?

146 - Nice try. Not very convincing, though. (Sorry, I'd still rather see Doctor Who secrets moved into a spinoff comm. Not that I mind them here, but they are overwhelming at times.)

168 - In the local dub of the show the whole Sensui/Itsuki subtext was omitted - the translator openly admitted that he changed the script because he hated gay people. Epic wank ensued.

The English dub and manga translation made it gayer. May I ask what language this is in so I can give him a bitchslap?

It's the Hungarian dub - feel free to bitchlap the guy till he's dead, this is not the only thing he did (though by far the most infuriating). He also made changes to the script because - get this - he didn't want it to be so similar to the other dubs.

...THE FUCK? O_o There's a REASON they're so similar, they're translations of the SAME FUCKING TEXT.

That's just a whole new brand of special right there.

(Not the OP) Why should people stop posting Doctor Who secrets here or any other secrets just because they get "overwhelming"? There is a Who secrets comm but don't expect me to cater to you or anyone else because you're "overwhelmed."

If you look closer, you can see that I wrote "not that I mind them here." I just noted that many secrets about one series/franchise is not the same as many secrets about lots and lots of series.

It doesn't matter, anyway - the secret is obviously a troll answer to another secret that complained about the amount of Doctor Who secrets.

It wasn't supposed to be a convincing troll. I didn't expect it to actually get posted. I was sure it'd be under either 'troll' or 'take it to the comments'. All I was saying is, if you're going to make a spin-off comm for one thing, why not for another MORE annoying thing? Cause I love anime, I do, but the majority of the anime secrets on here are dreck. 110%.

I was about to ask which dub was it. It was weird because, akaik, the allusions to homosexuality in the dub I watched (Latin-American Spanish one) were softened but the core stayed - Itsuki being Sensui-sexual was more subtle, but that was it. Thank God for that, and thanks to you for the intresting (but depressing) bit of info.

The only good thing that came out of the whole mess was that I (working in the "industry" myself) informed the appropriate person (who is a fan himself) so this translator will never work on anime again... or at least for a long long time.

You know what's the worst part? People who have practically crucified artist for referencing (Which is a whole different thing) and adding their own background/poses/clothes/whatever, and obviously not tracing, are now up in arms defending Nitta's traces as 'not a big deal'.

Referencing =/= tracing, and I have no idea why apparently an artist from Japan gets so much slack (Because even when Greg Land has his defenders, even THEM agree that tracing is bad, and they only argue that Land doesn't do it)

I think the main reason is simply "omg she can't quit now, what'll happen to our yaoi!" :/ I mean, in the west the artist is not expected to do anything other than maybe saying "I'm sorry"... so the fans didn't expect this reaction from her and her company. :/ (Even though IMO it's obvious that she won't really quit, she'll be back once this incident is forgotten - saying "I'm so sorry I don't deserve your trust, I'm quitting the industry and will never draw manga again" is sort of a standard reaction in such a situation.)

And of course there are the idiots who insist that it's not wrong if someone can't sue you for it. Argh. Actually, it's how Nitta lost my respect, when she said "I'm sorry for tracing photos, I didn't know it was against the law." ...so she thinks it's okay if it's not illegal, or what?! How can a long-time, famous mangaka say this? (In Japan of all places? I can't believe she didn't hear about all those tracing/copying scandals in the recent years.)
